Pemberton Wine Region
Majestic forests, exemplary wines and scrumptious farm gate produce make this a must-see stop-over on a Western Australian culinary odyssey. Gazetted as one of Australia’s newest wine producers, the small Pemberton Wine Region has already established a reputation for being one the most exciting emerging wine regions.
Covering the towns of Pemberton and Northcliffe, the region is home to many picturesque vineyards that adjoin karri forests. It combines southern latitude with high altitude and has a relatively cool climate, making it ideal for growing pinot noir and chardonnay grapes and suited to the production of refined Bordeaux-style wines.
Other grape varieties grown in the Pemberton Wine Region are sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, semillon and shiraz. It has also been noted that Pemberton is one of the few regions within Australia that offers fantastic potential for merlot.
We welcome you to explore this emerging fine wine region or to rekindle your acquaintance with long established favourites. Many of the wineries listed below have closed for tastings however their wines may still be available to purchase at bottle shops and outlets. We have left their information here as a point of reference.
Backdropped by majestic stands of karri forest many local wineries are attracting gold medals for their wine varieties. Pemberton also has a reputation for producing a wide range of gourmet products which incorporate marron, truffles and smoked trout.
Located in the lower south west region of Western Australia, Pemberton is a comfortable 3½ hour drive south of Perth and is 1.5 hours drive south east of Margaret River or 2.5 hours North West of Denmark.
We invite you to explore Pemberton to discover the wines, the gourmet food and our great hospitality.

Bellarmine Winery
Bellarmine Wines was established in 2000 when vines were planted on this special site, 220m above sea level with gravel laterite soils. German owners, Willi and Gudrun Schumacher searched the world for a place to grow and make high quality wines.
All the vines are on Schwartzmann rootstock and they struggle to grow which keeps crop levels low and promotes high quality fruit. From the first vintage in 2004, made by winemaker Diane Miller, the wines have received widespread critical acclaim and won numerous awards. Rated red 5 stars by James Halliday, the winery is proud to be part of the high quality Pemberton region. Bellarmine is featured in James Halliday's book, Top 100 Wineries of Australia.

Tastings are available everyday of our range of quality wines including the Truffle Hill Riesling, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Merlot.
