Modernised Custodians: Where Nature Meets Technology

Modernised Custodians: Where Nature Meets Technology

What happens when the natural world meets our rapidly changing relationship with technology?

Curated by emerging Western Australian artist and curator Cassandra Bynder, Modernised Custodians brings together 13 artists from across Western Australia for an engaging exploration of nature, technology, humanity and our future.

The exhibition invites visitors to consider how we are adapting to technology while reflecting on our personal connection to the Earth — and what we may be sacrificing along the way. It explores our yearning for simplicity, connection and presence in an increasingly distracted world, while asking whether there is a middle ground between the old and the new.

Could technology teach us something new while helping us appreciate what has come before? Modernised Custodians encourages us to think about symbiosis, growth, adaptation and new ways of seeing the world.
