Tarmac South West is returning to Pemberton for another thrilling motorsport weekend! This high-speed tarmac rally event will see drivers tackle challenging stages throughout the region, offering spectacular viewing opportunities for motorsport fans and families alike. Expect to see a mix of professional drivers and local competitors showcasing their skills on our scenic yet demanding roads.

The event is designed to be family-friendly, with multiple spectator points offering safe and accessible areas to watch the action. Whether you’re a dedicated motorsport enthusiast or just looking for an exciting weekend activity, Tarmac South West delivers an unforgettable experience.


Event Schedule

Friday 28th March – Shakedown Session

  • Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
  • Location: Pump Hill Rd (Corner of Club Rd & Pump Hill Rd)
  • Drivers fine-tune their cars before race day! Spectator donations support the Pemberton Mill Hall Committee.

Saturday 29th March – Rally Action

  • Service Park (Pemberton Sports Club) – All Morning
    • Get up close with the cars and chat with crews as they prep for each stage.
  • Golf Club Corner (Golf Links Rd & Mullineaux Rd) – 8:30 AM – 10:50 AM
    • Watch the cars race to Big Brook Dam and return twice.
  • Pump Hill Rd – 9:15 AM – 11:50 AM
    • Spectacular uphill and downhill rallying!
  • Pemberton Town – 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM
    • Exciting street racing action! Watch from verandahs or along Dean & Ellis Streets.

Spectator Information

Tarmac South West is designed to be enjoyed by all, but safety is a top priority. Please follow these guidelines:

  • Follow Safety Rules: Stay behind barriers and listen to event marshals.
  • Wear Sun Protection: Bring hats, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
  • Comfortable Footwear: Expect some walking on uneven terrain.
  • Respect Local Businesses: Support cafes, restaurants, and shops while in town.
  • Keep It Clean: Use bins and help keep Pemberton beautiful.
  • No Alcohol or Smoking: This is a family-friendly event.
  • Leave Pets at Home: For their safety and comfort.
  • Emergency Assistance: Event officials and first aid stations will be available.

Viewing Tips: Arrive early to secure a great spot! Some locations may have limited parking, so consider walking or using shuttle services if available. Binoculars and cameras can enhance your viewing experience.
