Pemberton is once again gearing up for the adrenaline-fuelled Tarmac South West event, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome drivers, crews, and spectators to our beautiful region. This event brings high-speed rally action to the heart of Pemberton, offering a unique motorsport experience in one of the most picturesque settings in Western Australia. Whether you’re a motorsport enthusiast or a first-time spectator, this event promises thrills, excitement, and community spirit.

Spectator Guide: Where to Watch the Action

Tarmac South West offers several great vantage points to experience the excitement up close. Be sure to check out these key locations:

Friday: Shakedown at Pump Hill Rd

• Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
• Best Viewing Spot: Corner of Club Rd & Pump Hill Rd
• This is a great opportunity to see the drivers fine-tune their cars ahead of race day. A donation from this session goes directly to the Pemberton Mill Hall Committee, supporting local heritage projects.

Saturday: Rally Action Across Pemberton

• Service Park (Pemberton Sports Club) – All Morning
  • Get up close to the cars and chat with the crews as they prepare for each stage. A great place for behind-the-scenes action!
• Golf Club Corner (Golf Links Rd & Mullineaux Rd) – 8:30 AM – 10:50 AM
  • Watch as cars race towards Big Brook Dam and return twice. A top spot for rally enthusiasts!
• Pump Hill Rd – 9:15 AM – 11:50 AM
  • Cars will be racing uphill and downhill, making for some exhilarating viewing. Same great spot as Friday!
• Pemberton Town – 3:15 PM – 5:30 PM
  • If the race passes your house, watch from your verandah! Otherwise, the best places to see the action are along Dean Street or Ellis Street.

Pemberton is proud to host Tarmac South West, and we love seeing our town buzzing with visitors and motorsport excitement. Events like this wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of volunteers. To ensure everyone has a great time, please keep these key points in mind:

• Follow marshal instructions and stay behind safety barriers at all times.
• Wear sun protection – bring a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
• Comfortable footwear is recommended, as some areas have uneven terrain.
• Respect local businesses by visiting our fantastic cafes, restaurants, and stores while you’re in town.
• Use designated bins to help keep our beautiful town clean.
• No alcohol or smoking at the event.
• Pets are best left at home for their safety and comfort.
• In case of emergency, notify the nearest event official or go to the first aid station.
