Pemberton is a top destination for hikers, offering direct access to the Bibbulmun Track’s beautiful landscapes and unique local experiences. Known for its karri forests and scenic trails, the Pemberton to Northcliffe section makes an ideal weekend hike, blending natural beauty with the charm of a trail-friendly town.

If you are looking at the maps, we are in Map 5 of the series (Donnelly River to Pemberton) with the trail to Northcliffe in Map 6. Some trail apps also include maps for the track so make sure you check the Bibbulmun Track Foundation website for any changes to track conditions – and pop into the Pemberton Visitor Centre to sign the trail book and keep staff up to date with your experience on the trails.

1. How can I organise food and parcel drop-offs on the Bibbulmun Track?

  • Food Parcels: Can be dropped off or posted along the trail. Its important to make sure that everything is sealed tight.
    Local options include:
    • Pemberton Visitor Centre: We offer food parcel collection services by arrangement.
    • If you are posting, please ensure your parcel is clearly labelled along with the date to collect.

  • The Pemberton Visitor Centre (PVC) provides detailed information on:
    • Track conditions and maps.

3. Where can I park my car while hiking?

  • Pemberton Caravan Park: Parking is $10/day with proceeds supporting the swimming pool, reduced to $5/day if staying at the park.
  • DBCA Gated Area: Parking available during business days (Monday to Friday).

4. What accommodation options are near the Bibbulmun Track?

  • Pemberton is a Trail Town, and offers a variety of accommodation options, including motels, resorts, and campgrounds.

5. Where can I find food supplies in Pemberton?

  • Here at the Pemberton Visitor Centre we stock dehydrated hiking foods like Backcountry.
  • Local Stores:

    • Northcliffe Visitor Centre has a variety of food and hiking essentials.

6. Where can I buy gas for my hiking stove?

  • BP Garage and Pemberton General Store both sell gas canisters.

7. What if I need to make repairs or buy spare parts?

  • Pemberton General Store: Provides repair supplies and basic hiking gear.
  • Manjimup is 25 minutes from Pemberton and is our closest centre.

8. Where can I buy clothing and shoes for hiking?

  • Pemberton General Store: Stocks outdoor clothing and shoes.

9. Are there places to get medical supplies or travel essentials?

  • The Pemberton Pharmacy carries medical and travel essentials, and Ernie’s IGA and the General Store offers some basic supplies and travel essentials.
